Position Overview:

Finning Canada is looking for a passionate and field experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal preferred) to join our team based out of Kamloops. In this role, you will be working directly with the HVC maintenance team onsite at the Highland Valley Copper site on a 7x7 Continuous shift. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar and other branded power systems products.

Industry leading potential total compensation plan: ~$140,000 - $160,000 / year

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with High Valley Copper maintenance team on-site
• Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis of product issue
• Interface with customer, product support and sales support
• Working with the on-site maintenance team
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirement
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required
  
  

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification required (Red Seal preferred)
• 5+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience recommended
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar mining product line will be considered an asset
• Previous mining experience with 793D, 793F, D10T, 24M
  
  

Notes:

• This is a site position, located at Highland Valley Copper on a 7x7 continuous shift rotation
• Accommodations provided at Logan Lake
• Any per diem (Meal allowances) paid as per the CBA and HVC LOU
• A condition of employment may be the ability to be fit tested and the capacity to wear a respirator
• Additional conditions to gain Site Access may be required
• This is a consultative role only unless warranty work is being performed
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
