Major Job Functions
- Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar & Non Caterpillar equipment in a field environment
- Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent Drivers Abstract (5 Year)
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar product line is beneficial
- Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
- Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines would be considered an asset
- Power Generation experience would be considered an asset
- Must comply with Customer's site access requirements
- Role is based in Yellowknife on a 5 x 2 Monday to Friday Shift, residence in Yellowknife an asset
- Travel and Overtime will be required as per Customer requirements
- A condition of employment may be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (could include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)
- A condition of employment may be the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
