WSP has an exciting opportunity for Junior Archaeologists to join our Heritage team in British Columbia. As a Junior Archaeologist, you will work closely with the Heritage team contributing to the success of projects throughout the province. You will gain valuable and diverse work experience as part of our province-wide Heritage team and will have opportunities to work on multidisciplinary projects that will contribute to your professional development. The successful candidate will ideally be based in one of the following offices: Castlegar, Fort St John (also including Tumbler Ridge), Kamloops, Langley, Vancouver, and Victoria.

What you can expect to do here:
- Carrying out archaeological survey and testing, excavation, and monitoring under the direction of a Field Supervisor and in compliance with HCA and First Nations permits
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with Indigenous communities and their members
- Work in a variety of environments, such as all-weather conditions, rugged and semi-remote locations, and overnight accommodations in a camp or hotel setting
- Perform other duties as required, that may include artifact analysis, reporting, and research
- Participate in WSP’s Health & Safety program, demonstrating a “Safety First” focus
- An Archaeology or Anthropology undergraduate degree (or nearing completion)
- Basic knowledge of British Columbia archaeology would be an asset
- Ability to do strenuous field work, including hiking in uneven terrain, carrying heavy loads and manual excavating
- A willingness and passion for working with Indigenous groups and communities
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethics
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5)
- First aid and other safety tickets would be considered an asset, but all necessary training will be provided to the successful applicant
