Junior Estimator - #229168

MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a leading Canadian bridge and heavy civil contractor to find a Junior Estimator for their North Vancouver office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating. The successful candidate will work closely with senior estimators and project teams on complex infrastructure projects across Canada, gaining exposure to bridge construction, rehabilitation, marine works, foundations, concrete structures, and other heavy civil projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Recent graduates and candidates with limited industry experience are encouraged to apply.
• Previous co-op, internship, field, project coordination, or estimating experience within construction is considered an asset.
• Strong interest in heavy civil, bridge, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects.
• Familiarity with estimating software, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or Bid2Win is considered an asset but not required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, and tender packages to determine project scope and requirements.
• Assist with quantity take-offs for labour, equipment, materials, and subcontracted scopes of work.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for infrastructure and construction projects.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Help identify project risks, scope gaps, and constructability considerations during the estimating phase.
• Maintain accurate bid documentation and estimating records.
• Support the preparation and submission of tender packages prior to bid closing deadlines.
