About The Role

The Laboratory Supervisor, Sample Management is primarily responsible for supervising a team of technicians, ensure an optimal and efficient workflow between teams.

Ensure quality service to the laboratories and the integrity of study samples and material at all times

What You'll Do Here

• Supervises one or more of the following processes:
• Reception and inventory of study material
• Service of study material
• Destruction, storage and shipping of study material
• Reception and inventory of Blank Matrices.
• Reception and inventory of Critical Reagents
• Reception and inventory of Reference Standards
• Supervision and provide feedback to technicians
• Ensure services meet study timelines.
• Organize team meetings
• Ensure study material integrity
• Investigate and troubleshoot errors
• Addresses major issues, deviations and QI in a timely matter.
• Participates in internal audits and responds to QA findings
• Participates in investigation and provide recommendations
• Ensure procedures are followed by technicians.
• Ensure organization and optimization of storage space
• Manages employee schedule
• Approve employee timesheets
• Generate reports as needed to various teams and management
• Identify training needs and implement training program
• Provide coaching and training.
• Write and/or review SOPs, user guides and training.
• Responsible for optimizing processes and procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve processes
• Participates in recruiting
• Performs employee performance review.
• Promotes employee professional development plan and growth
• To conduct all work in compliance with applicable SOPs, GCPs, GLPs, and observe all company guidelines and policies.
• To perform any other tasks as required.
  
  

What You Need To Succeed

• B.Sc. or higher in Life Sciences or Bioinformatics
• At least 5 years experience working in a CRO with relevant experience in Sample Management
• Knowledge of FDA-GLP, GCP and TPD regulation is an asset.
• Good communication in English and French
• Good organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Problem solving abilities.
• Attentive to details.
• Customer-focused.
• Works well within a team
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Office 365
• Knowledge of Watson LIMS will be an asset
• Able to function with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task with attention to details
