GFL Environmental is seeking a Laborer to join our team at the Victoria Transfer Station. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a dynamic outdoor environment and are committed to safety, teamwork, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually separate and sort materials from mixed loads
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
- Direct traffic safely on-site as needed
- Operate a front-end loader and excavator safely and efficiently (part-time operation)
- Assist in load screening and spotting duties
- Perform manual tasks such as lifting/moving materials (up to 65 lbs)
- Follow all safety protocols and instructions with limited supervision
- Complete other duties as assigned by management
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and move up to 65 pounds regularly
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
- Experience operating equipment such as loaders/excavators (an asset)
- Forklift certification and first aid tickets are considered assets
- Must meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards
