The Lease & Revenue Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration of residential leases and ensuring the accuracy of resident accounts and revenue records within Yardi. Acting as a key liaison between Operations and Finance, this role oversees resident payment administration, receipting, rent roll integrity, and lease-related financial processes. The successful candidate will help ensure lease activity is accurately reflected in the property management system and that rental revenue is complete, accurate, and properly recorded.

The Lease & Revenue Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration of residential leases and ensuring the accuracy of resident accounts and revenue records within Yardi. Acting as a key liaison between Operations and Finance, this role oversees resident payment administration, receipting, rent roll integrity, and lease-related financial processes. The successful candidate will help ensure lease activity is accurately reflected in the property management system and that rental revenue is complete, accurate, and properly recorded.
Key Responsibilities
Lease Administration Support
- Support move-in, move-out, transfer, renewal, and lease amendment processes within Yardi.
- Review lease-related transactions for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure resident records, lease terms, rental rates, incentives, and occupancy status are accurately maintained.
- Coordinate with Leasing and Operations teams to resolve discrepancies and outstanding documentation.
- Assist with resident account setup and maintenance.
- Administer resident payment programs, including PAD setup and maintenance through RentCafe.
- Process and apply EFTs and other resident payments within Yardi.
- Investigate and resolve unidentified receipts and payment discrepancies.
- Monitor resident account balances and follow up on issues impacting account accuracy.
- Support delinquency and collections processes as required.
- Perform regular reviews of the rent roll to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Reconcile changes resulting from move-ins, move-outs, transfers, renewals, concessions, and rent increases.
- Investigate unusual variances, resident credits, missing charges, and other account discrepancies.
- Ensure lease activity is accurately reflected in resident ledgers and revenue reporting.
- Assist in maintaining strong internal controls over rental revenue.
- Prepare and distribute rent roll, occupancy, and resident account reports.
- Assist with month-end revenue reviews and reconciliations.
- Support Finance with audit requests and documentation.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Serve as a primary point of contact between Operations and Finance for resident accounting and lease-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with Leasing, Property Management, and Finance teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Support implementation and optimization of Yardi, RentCafe, and related systems.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in property management, lease administration, resident accounting, accounts receivable, or a related role.
- Experience with Yardi and/or RentCafe preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
