Job Description

Job Title: Level 2- Maintenance Semi Skilled

Job Summary

The Maintenance Semiskilled position assists in the mechanical repairs and maintenance of industrial machinery, equipment and building systems.  

Responsibility

  • Assist with the inspection, cleaning and basic maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established schedules. 
  • Assist with the installation and alignment of machinery and equipment. 
  • Support skilled technicians in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues. 
  • Assist in mechanical rebuilds of the machinery and components. 
  • Replace or repair defective parts, such as bearings, gears, belts and motors. 
  • Utilize hand and power tools to perform tasks under the guidance of experienced maintenance personnel. 
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.  
  • Close work orders using the maintenance tracking system. 

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Trade knowledge is considered an asset. 

Required Skills/Experience

  • Minimum one year's experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Fully capable of Level 1 – Maintenance Labourer responsibilities. 
  • Familiar with specialized measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges and dial indicators.
