We're seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook (Cook I) to join our culinary team part-time. You will be instrumental in preparing, cooking, and presenting delicious and nutritious meals, ensuring the highest standards of taste, appearance, and food safety for our residents. What You'll Do

As a key member of our culinary team at The Dunfield, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items according to established recipes and requirements.
  • Ensuring all dishes are palatable and visually appealing, meticulously garnishing food.
  • Inspecting and tasting food regularly to maintain consistent quality standards.
  • Accurately portioning and serving food to our residents.
  • Following production sheets precisely to manage food preparation effectively.
  • Coordinating work routines seamlessly with other cooks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Assisting with inventory and ordering of food supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Strictly complying with all sanitary regulations and safe food handling guidelines during preparation.
  • Maintaining production areas, storerooms, and refrigeration units in a consistently clean and organized condition.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing your work area according to the established schedule.
  • Communicating closely and collaborating effectively with the Executive Chef, the rest of the administrative team, and co-workers to ensure consistent service and high-quality operations.

Who You Are

You are a meticulous and passionate culinary professional with a strong commitment to food quality and safety. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven institutional cooking experience, demonstrating your expertise in a professional kitchen setting.
  • A culinary degree, some culinary training, or equivalent related experience is highly preferred.
  • Food Handler's Certification, showcasing your understanding of critical food safety practices.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks common in a kitchen environment, including lifting items up to 50 pounds, moving about the restaurant, and handling food objects, pots, pans, plates, trays, and glasses.
  • Comfort with considerable bending, stooping, and kneeling as required.
