Overview
The Line Runner/Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting products and materials to designated warehouse and plant locations, as well as assisting with picking and staging material orders. This position also verifies incoming orders and ensures all inventory transactions are accurately completed and documented.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or equipment.
- Sort and package fabricated parts onto a cart according to the subassembly list and deliver to point of use in the plant (manually or with equipment).
- Verify subassembly counts are correct and meet a visual quality inspection and report any discrepancies to the fabrication area.
- May perform other activities such as assisting in taking inventory and weighing/checking materials.
- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately completed.
- Participate in clean-up of yard and facility.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Effective time management skills.
- Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
- Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
- Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings such as cold or hot weather outdoors; may have combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting throughout the day.
- Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Fast-paced environment.
- Overtime as required.
- Communication is primarily internal to the assigned work team, the Inventory and Materials Supervisors, and Production and Plant Management.
