The Opportunity
We're looking for a Maintenance Lead to oversee the maintenance, safety and operation of building systems, equipment and grounds at Hallmark on the Park and Hallmark on the Lake, our Assisted Living and Independent Living communities in Abbotsford BC.
This role leads the maintenance team and ensures the buildings and grounds are running smoothly, from routine maintenance to emergency repairs, while also responding to resident maintenance requests and helping create a safe, well-functioning community where seniors can experience life well.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a Maintenance Lead to oversee the maintenance, safety and operation of building systems, equipment and grounds at Hallmark on the Park and Hallmark on the Lake, our Assisted Living and Independent Living communities in Abbotsford BC.
This role leads the maintenance team and ensures the buildings and grounds are running smoothly, from routine maintenance to emergency repairs, while also responding to resident maintenance requests and helping create a safe, well-functioning community where seniors can experience life well.
What You'll Do
- Plan and coordinate preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance across building systems (plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
- Oversee building and grounds upkeep, ensuring repairs, and maintenance requests are addressed promptly.
- Lead site safety planning, including safety orientations and fire drills.
- Select and oversee contractors for specialized work (e.g., flooring, grounds, elevators) with the Senior Operations Manager.
- Maintain maintenance records (CMMS / electronic logs) and report on activity, repairs and expenses.
- Identify and address hazards or unsafe conditions, reporting to the Administrator as needed.
- collaborate with the Administrator on maintenance budgets and capital / replacement reserve planning.
- Supervise and support the maintenance team, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
What you Bring
- Form education, certification, or equivalent combination of training and experience in facility maintenance, building operations or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance, repair, and facility operations.
- Previous leadership experience, including supervising team members, coordinating contractors and managing maintenance projects.
- Knowledge of building systems including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building infrastructure.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards,
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Proficient in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), electronic records, and Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
- Effective project coordination with contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to build positive relationships with residents and team members.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary between $70,000 - $74,000 annually
- Extended health and dental benefits
- RRSP matching up to 7% and four weeks vacation
