The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day Maintenance activities within the team. Using the principles of total quality management to execute the work of preventative maintenance and repair equipment, and actively participate in project development and training. Accountable for effective communication between management and team to maximize effective maintenance engagement practices.

BC Cranberry farmers deliver locally grown cranberries to the Richmond Receiving Station. The harvest season runs from September thru November. You will be an integral part of the harvest process, ensuring all the machinery is operational to meet the demands to process over 50 million pounds of cranberries.
We are recruiting for a Millwright Assistant / Maintenance Mechanic to start immediately who assist our Millwright in duties that include, but not limited to, preventive maintenance/maintaining machinery, breakdown maintenance, repairs, new installations, and more.

Requirements
- Must possess good interpersonal skills required to work in a team environment.
- Must be available to work overtime
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written
- High school education or equivalent
Considered Assets
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification or Machinist Trade Certification
- Welder Trade Certification
- Computer skills
- Forklift Sit Down Counterbalance Operator Certification
- First aid (OFA) Level 2
- Diagnose mechanical problems
- Maintaining equipment
- Repairing and adjusting machinery
- Pumps, electric motors, conveyor belts and drainage/wastewater systems
- Programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- To take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves and their co-workers.
- To observe all WCB regulations or orders pertaining to their work.
- To follow safe work procedures.
- To use or wear personal protective equipment as required by the WCB regulations.
- Millwright – basic knowledge
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Ability to learn new procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate with employees
- Precise attention to detail
- Mechanically inclined
- Experience in food processing facility and confined spaces preferred
- Wage per hour
- During Cranberry Harvest season (Sept-Nov), overtime is required based on operation needs and paid at 1.5 times the hourly wage after 8 hours, and 2 times after 12 hours in a day.
