Where You’ll Be Working
- Site Suncor Base Plant
- Schedule 7 x 7, 12 hour days (Paid for 12 hours), Day shift.
- Accommodations Camp is not provided.
- Transportation Bussing is provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts).
- Overtime Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.

- Up to a combined rate of pay of $44.74/hour
- Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay allocated to each paycheck
- Earn up to 61 hours of overtime per 14-day rotation
- Night shift premium

What You'll Be Doing
- Perform general maintenance, cleanup, and organizational duties within work areas (ie. roadways, clear snow, address potholes, water, etc.)
- Assist technicians with job setup/tear-down
- Assist technicians with assembly and testing when required (under direct supervision)
- Gather/deliver parts and components to assist job process
- Segregate waste and ensure proper storage of all controlled products in work areas
- Operate various equipment performing maintenance duties - Loader/Grader/Forklift/Skid-Steer/Light Duty Vehicles
- Assist technicians with assembly and testing when required (minimal supervision)
- Load/off-load freight components from delivery trucks with forklift
- Install/replace Ground Engagement Tools (G.E.T.)
- Minimum 3 months previous experience operating grader/loader
- Minimum 6 months previous experience in a heavy equipment maintenance or automotive repair environment
- Forklift/skid-steer certifications are considered an asset
- Class 3 License endorsement and prior experience with hauling/reversing trailers with a light duty truck is an asset w/air
- Proficient in all Intermediate Maintenance Yardperson duties
If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following
- Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a recent Driver’s Abstract
- Provide a valid copies of the following CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness & H2S Awareness. All tickets are to be completed through Energy Safety Canada
- Be subject to Random Testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening
- Criminal Record Check
- Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
- An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
- After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details.
