Make an impact with our Enterprise Risk Services – Emergency Management Team as a Manager. This recently established team utilizes leading-edge industry knowledge to assist clients in supporting a wide range of emergency management activities. As a trusted advisor, you’ll deliver tailored solutions that empower clients to achieve their emergency management goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal, planning, and delivery of enterprise risk services – emergency management engagements including preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery activities for a range of clients including local authorities, indigenous governing bodies, provincial bodies, and federal bodies.
  • Provide clients with tangible advice, guidance, and coaching to provide organizational leadership and perspective to help meet intended emergency management objectives.
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
  • Provide emergency management technical expertise through client interactions, research and analysis, reports, technical work, management presentations, proposals and other high-quality deliverables
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and that relationships grow and develop
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
  • Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Willingness to travel, especially to remote and rural communities.
  • Willingness to work on-call and extended hours during emergency activations.



  • Skills And Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, business administration, public administration, public policy, natural resources management, or other related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Minimum three years of direct emergency management experience including successfully delivering both strategic and operational projects.
    • Minimum three years experience in client relationship / client management including delivering presentations and facilitating workshops to senior officials for both local authorities and indigenous governing bodies.
    • Minimum three years of experience conducting research, analyzing complex information, and preparing reports to make recommendations.
    • Minimum three years leading multi-disciplinary staff, including developing and evaluating employee performance goals, coaching, team building, and mentoring.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrix-reporting environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to navigate conflict, complex relationships, and opposing agendas.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms.
    • Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and to think creatively to solve problems.
    • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data.
    • Preference may be given to candidates with:
      • A graduate degree in a related field, or a related advanced certification from a nationally recognized institute.
      • Experience working directly with rural and remote communities, including indigenous communities.
      • Experience working across multiple provincial and territorial jurisdictions.
      • Experience delivering response operations including evacuation, evacuation re-entry, Emergency Support Services, and evacuee tracking.
