The opportunity

As a key member of the Internal Audit team, the Manager, Information Technology Audit, is responsible for leading, managing, and executing approved internal audits in the area of Information Technology, in accordance with applicable professional standards and departmental policies. They are also responsible for contributing to the Internal Audit plan and strategy and providing assistance to the Senior AVP, IT & Cybersecurity Audit, on key initiatives such as preparing executive and Board reporting material and process improvement. Key deliverables

Audit Planning and ExecutionLead the planning, fieldwork and reporting for the audits of IT and Cybersecurity areas under the Sr AVP guidance. Take accountability for assigned audits through effective monitoring and reporting of progress and status updates. Ensure timely completion of audits, within budget, and at an acceptable quality per professional standards (IIA, ISACA, NIST, etc.) and departmental policies.

Collaborate with management to ensure implementation of action plans for identified audit issues and assist the Sr AVP in follow up and reporting. Enhance Internal Audit processes, streamline activities, improve efficiency, and leverage advanced tools, including data analytics, as part of regular audits. Assist in keeping internal policies updated and adhere to professional standards (incl. IIA, ISACA, NIST, SOC, ISO) and departmental procedures.

Assist in developing and executing audit programs, especially in the Data and Technology space - for the sustainment of A-IRB initiatives. Client Relationship ManagementDevelop and maintain effective relationships with IT, Cybersecurity / Information Security office and internal audit stakeholders. Participate in stakeholder meetings as part of audit planning, execution and closures.

Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, handling conflicts appropriately, resolving issues, and keeping them informed about audit status and potential issues. Coordinate post-audit client surveys and compile results to support client satisfaction assessments. Successful incumbent

This role requires strong communication and analytical skills for effective report writing and problem-solving. The successful incumbent manages multiple engagements, prioritizes tasks efficiently, and builds strong relationships. They possess a deep understanding of IT risks, formulate practical audit procedures, and grasp technology's role in business optimization.

Additionally, they uphold high ethical standards, staying updated on industry developments to grow professionally. Core knowledge requirements and Demonstrated ExperienceUndergraduate degree in relevant disciplines (e.g., MIS, information technology, accounting, etc.)Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation. Other relevant designations or certificates, such as CISSP, CGEIT, CRISC, CISM or ITIL, would be an asset.

Minimum of 6-7 years of experience IT auditing, control or cybersecurity across various areas (e.g., IS, IT and data governance, applications, infrastructure services and components). Demonstrated knowledge of at least two IT governance and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO27001, ISO27002, OSFI Cybersecurity Guidelines, NIST Cybersecurity Framework). In-depth understanding of financial services industry preferred.

Experience testing key IT general controls. Demonstrated ability to manage IT audits and mentor team members. Strong knowledge of Canadian banking regulations (OSFI, FINTRAC, CDIC) and IIA Standards.

Proficiency in MS Office, and Power BI, Galvanize, SQL, or Tableau for data analytics. Why work with us? Your success is our obsession!
