Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our ENGINEERING team as a:
MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer is a self-motivated team player with good communication skills and would be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Support the design, procurement, installation, and operation of all assembly equipment, including root cause analysis of assembly issues to prevent quality concerns.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives across the plant; oversee R&D activities for claiming purposes.
- Support new program launches, including Run-at-Rate, process development, and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve plant and cell layouts, including creation and maintenance of work instructions.
- Optimize manufacturing operations through analytical methods, such as time studies and process evaluations, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Analyze plant layout, workflow, utilization, and inventory control using CAD and other relevant systems to identify and implement improvements (e.g., 5S, Lean).
- Identify and implement cost-effective improvements in equipment, error-proofing systems, and overall plant efficiency.
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with Quality Management Systems, Health & Safety and Ergonomics standards, and Environmental legislation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience successfully launching assembly equipment and quoting new assembly systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D CAD viewers (e.g., Spinfire, Spectrum, TransMagic), with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be eligible and able to travel to the United States.
