Position Description

As a Material Handler Leadhand, you will be accountable to:

  • Guide, motivate, and train junior material handlers; lead by example in performing tasks.
  • Load, unload, move, sort, count, weigh, and pack/unpack materials using hand tools or equipment.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, track shortages, perform cycle counts, and report needs to supervisors.
  • Pull, pack, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy.
  • Verify incoming/outgoing deliveries, inspect equipment, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and maintain a clean work area.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Report issues, track inventory, and collaborate with other departments.
  • Compliance with health and safety

Key Responsibilities

  • Forklift operator experience (preferred)
  • Overhead crane experience (preferred)
  • Computer skills / Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Physical stamina, strength, and coordination.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to take direction and lead others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
