About the role: Provide expertise in modelling, requirements management, data integration, analysis, and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) services in support of the Royal Canadian Navy. Offer multi-disciplinary engineering and technical services related to the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Naval Combat System. Weir Marine Engineering supports the RCD Project Management Office (PMO) within the Department of National Defence (DND) Office at the Bluenose building in Dartmouth, NS. The Requirements Traceability Engineer will conduct Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities in support of the RCD Program.
The candidate may also support other project areas as required, including Integrated Test Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA), Performance Modelling and Simulation (M&S), Land Based Test Capability (LBTC), and Synthetic Environment Support activities. This is a full-time, permanent position with a combination of working in-office and working from home, if desired.

What You’ll Do
- Requirements Management: Developing, maintaining, and implementing Requirements Managements Standards and Processes, such as those defined in ISO/IEC 15288:2015, ISO/IEC 29148:2018, and NASA-SP/6015; supporting Systems Engineering Lifecycle phase reviews; contributing to Systems Design processes; performing Verification, Validation and Accreditation of developed models and databases.
- Model Based Systems Engineering: Conducting data capture sessions with members of the operational community; developing and verifying system architecture models within the project's MBSE environment; processing, querying, and analysing complex data sets; application of a disciplined approach and adherence to MBSE Standards and Processes; supporting reviews of subcontractor developed materials; supporting requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification processes.
- Technical Documentation: Reviewing technical documentation such as System Requirement Specifications, Interface Control Documents, System Design Descriptions; developing, testing, and verifying internal documentation surrounding software and data organization processes.
- Support to client: Maintaining positive, friendly, collaborative relationships with team members, and internal and external stakeholders. Liaison with subject matter experts, DND customers and suppliers.

Must-haves:
- Mandatory: Must obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which necessitates Canadian citizenship and a minimum of 10 years of continuous residence in Canada.
- Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Mandatory: Skilled in reading, writing, and speaking English, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels (both in-person and electronically) with peers, supervisors, and clients. Capable of drafting reports and technical correspondence.
- Desirable: Knowledge or experience in conducting Requirements Management using IBM Rational DOORS.
- Desirable: Familiarity with data modelling languages and MBSE frameworks such as UML, SysML, DODAF, DNDAF and UAF.
- Desirable: Experience implementing the Object Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) using Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
- Desirable: Experience utilizing the Cameo DataHub plugin for requirements synchronization and traceability.
