As a member of the mechanical engineering team, this position is responsible for the conceptualization and development of servo and pneumatic-based packaging machines and assemblies.

Are you passionate about this work?

  • Use of design software to develop custom packaging automation solutions
  • Interpret technical specifications & application parameters;
  • Perform analysis and find solutions to various mechanical problems;
  • Conceptualize designs, problem-solve, participate in product development team;
  • Select cost-effective OEM components, while ensuring design for manufacturing concepts have been applied.
  • Create full design packages including BOM, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts;
  • Check and validate all final design documentation, parts lists, and drawings according to design and contract requirements, to ensure completeness and accuracy;
  • Interact with the purchasing department and production department, in the office and on the production floor as needed.

  • Need to be registered in 3rd or 4th year of the targeted programs and have completed at least one work term or have relevant similar experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills which includes presentation skill.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word/Excel, CAD, ERP systems;
  • Solid Modeling skills (SolidWorks); AutoCAD 2D experience an asset.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience in packaging industry preferred.
