Role
The Mechanical Technician/Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient production. This role involves troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and adhering to company safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Millwright (or equivalent education & experience in industrial mechanical maintenance).
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with alignment and calibration tools.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork.
Schedule & Working Conditions:
- 8hr rotational shift, with flexibility based on business needs.
- Work is performed in a pipe coating facility.
