Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union We are currently looking to fill a Millwright position within our Utility Services Department working with our Wastewater Treatment group. As one of the successful applicants, you will be responsible for designs, lay outs, installs, maintenance, repairs, rebuilds and troubleshooting industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in City facilities and other operations
Duties - Union

• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds and services a variety of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems and other lift station and water/wastewater system equipment; performs welding and fabrication duties. The work is completed in both shop and field locations.
• Reads diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures and equipment specifications.
• Fits bearings, aligns gear, shafts, motors and other components connect to precise tolerances.
• Performs vibration analysis on electric motors and pumps; records worn parts into data base and schedules units to be rebuilt where appropriate.
• Orders parts from suppliers; prepares drawings and requisitions for components that need to be fabricated or machined by external shops.
• Verifies that machined or new replacement components meet required specifications and measurement tolerances.
• Reviews project priorities with Foreman or Supervisor; recommends equipment to be replaced or rebuilt.
• Documents work completed and in- progress on computerized maintenance system.
• Operates various equipment related to the work, including computers and a variety of gauges, hand tools and power tools.
• Maintains all tools and equipment clean and in a safe working condition; keeps the work area clean and free of hazards to ensure a safe workplace.
• Takes industry specific training to learn latest technologies.
