Overview

The National Accounts Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction to drive revenue, strategy, and execution of sales initiatives to ensure the attainment of BISSELL volume and profit objectives. The National Accounts Manager will lead all sales strategies for Best Buy, Home Hardware, Specialty, New Business Development, and other Tier 2 accounts as required. This role leverages leadership, vision, support, and effective resource allocation to develop the overall account relationship including maintenance and development of new and existing business opportunities with these accounts. The National Accounts Manager will manage the account P&L along with developing, implementing, and driving coordination of account specific plans to grow BISSELL Canada’s market share.

Responsibilities

  • Grow, develop, and maintain trade customer account base through implementation of overall marketing plan. This is to be accomplished by means of account presentations and overall follow through with retail customer.
  • Maintain overall knowledge of appropriate retail customer base. Know most efficient and economical way to accomplish overall sales and marketing goals of BISSELL. Has knowledge of customer beyond the buyer level and maintains working relationships with all areas of retail organization.
  • Own customer P&L and deliver profitable, sustainable growth. Must meet customer profit and EVA objectives as established by BISSELL. Build, develop and execute the annual sales plans, updates, and budgets.
  • Function as the key source of strategic account information for BISSELL key functional areas including - sales, marketing, logistics, and supply planning both in the Canada offices as well as the Grand Rapids based departments and associates.
  • Develop, manage, and execute promotional and advertising programs. Manage advertising budgets to build out key campaign strategies determining most efficient means of spending funds to meet internal KPI’s as well as meeting customer expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze category and sku performance. Use data, information systems, and metrics around financial, brand, and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits.
  • Negotiate and manage trade funds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring trade terms and identifying opportunities for improvement. Process and track advertising claims and maintain records of corresponding credit memos. Clear outstanding claims in an efficient and appropriate manner.
  • Leads effective communication of all retailer information throughout the organization including Marketing, Customer Service, Sales Administrative Associates, Business Analysts and A/R Coordinators.
  • Maintain and develop customer account base through implementation of overall marketing plan and fostering internal and external relationships.
  • Build key seasonal programs, by determining the right assortment and high ROI supporting tactics; plan and forecast volumes with internal teams to deliver exceptional incremental opportunities.
  • Track and maintain customer orders from initial entry into order system to final delivery to customer. Provide customer with necessary information with regards to order and shipping status.
  • Work across both BISSELL and Customer Supply Chain Operations to improve service levels and reduce chargebacks.
  • Understand inventory management and execute forecasting process maintaining optimal coverage levels aligned upon between Customers and BISSELL.
  • Be the in-house expert and repository of knowledge of all Retail Online platform changes, policies, and best practices.
  • Supports planning and implementation of trade shows, store checks, new store openings, store sets and sales calls.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Education

  • Degree minimum: 4-year degree
  • Specific concentration: Business or Marketing
  • Experience level: 8+ years

Preferred Experience/Education

  • 6+ Years of Relevant Experience calling on major retailers in Canada. The ideal candidate will have experience in CPG or Electronics selling to Mass, Electronics, DIY or Grocery accounts.
  • Familiarity with use of NPD market data and analysis,
  • Knowledge of retailer systems
  • Category Management experience

Specialized Training Or Skills Required

This position requires the ability to manage the flow of data, perform analysis, generate summary reports and communicate by voice or data while being connected in the office, at home or while travelling by laptop or mobile device regularly without regard to time zone or day of the week.
