The Village of Winston Park located in Kitchener, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time Maintenance Worker to join their LTC team.
Shift Details: 6pm - 11pm, 50 hrs biweekly, availability on alternate weekends is required.

- Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
- Handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect.
- Communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
- Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
- Have general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.
- Possess the ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture .
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
- An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
- Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
