Andrews Senior Care

Date: 6 days ago
City: Charlottetown, PE
Contract type: Full time
Position Title: People & Culture Coordinator

Location: Andrews Senior Care Corporate office

Why Join Us?

At Andrews Senior Care, we believe that exceptional care starts with an exceptional team culture. As our People and Culture Coordinator, you will be the heartbeat of our workplace community.

This role goes beyond day-to-day HR administration. Your true mission is to champion a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across all our homes. You will partner closely with the Group General Manager and Leaders at home to drive team engagement, facilitate learning, and support team members through the administrative steps of their immigration journeys.

How You'll Spend Your Time…

Culture, Engagement and Team Relations

  • Champion culture-building initiatives that align with Andrews Senior Care's mission and values, promoting a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and support talent development, recognition, and retention initiatives, including coordinating team surveys and supporting localized action plans.
  • Serve as an accessible, trusted first point of contact for team members on routine inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and workplace practices.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and conduct objective internal reviews of workplace concerns, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and alignment with organizational values.

Immigration Administrative Support

This role provides internal administrative guidance to team members navigating immigration processes. It focuses strictly on organizational workflow and documentation support and does not involve providing legal advice or regulated immigration consulting.

  • Act as the internal administrative support.
  • Assist with gathering non-legal workplace documentation, confirming employment details, and tracking timelines related to work authorization and status changes.
  • Ensure a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience for international team members as they integrate into our care teams.

Training and Leadership Development

  • Assess training needs across our homes and collaborate on practical solutions to strengthen leadership capability and team performance.
  • Develop and deliver engaging internal training sessions on HR policies, communication, and workplace culture.
  • Maintain and refresh training materials, onboarding content, and internal culture-focused communication resources.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Collaborate with recruitment and payroll teams to ensure seamless onboarding, accurate documentation, and proactive employee lifecycle management.
  • Coach managers on performance feedback, documentation best practices, and progressive accountability frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate, highly confidential HR records while ensuring all practices align with Canadian employment standards and internal policies.

What You Will Bring To The Team

  • Education: A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A CPHR designation — or active progress toward one is a welcome asset.
  • Experience: 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in an HR or people operations role. Experience in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or a multi-site service environment is highly preferred.
  • Culture Centered: A genuine passion for the employee experience, relationship-building, and organizational culture.
  • Communication and Discretion: Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills, paired with a high standard of professionalism, strict confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: A self-starter who thrives independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment while also valuing cross-divisional collaboration.
  • Operational Fit: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems, alongside a solid foundational understanding of employment standards.

Candidates with similar experience and/or understanding of Canadian employment standards and HR policies are encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions

This is a multi-site role that blends hands-on field presence with support office administration. Regular travel to our various care home locations is required.
