THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN HAMILTON, ONTARIO.
Role Mandate:
This role is responsible for the management of the Fortinos Meat Production Facility. The Plant Manager scope incudes but is not limited to: planning and directing the processing of fresh meat products, packaging of fresh meat products and distribution to our retail locations. This includes management of all phases of plant operations including labour, production, quality control, maintenance, receiving, and shipping. They will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability.

Accountabilities:
- Assist with budget planning, capital expenditures, and maintenance programs
- Plan daily operations, assign staff, approve overtime, and manage costs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and mentor employees, provide feedback, and recognize achievements
- Work with different departments to meet production standards and business goals
- Ensure all operations comply with company policies and legal regulations
- Ensure compliance with WSIB regulations and corporate safety policies, including workplace inspections and equipment maintenance
- Ensure compliance with Company Quality Assurance policies and CFIA regulations.
- 3-5 years of managerial experience preferably in a food processing facility
- Comprehensive knowledge of a meat processing and packaging facility
- Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
- Highly motivated, results oriented, & driven
- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment
- Excellent organizational abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must have exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, team building and advance coaching skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Knowledge of SAP software is an asset but not mandatory
- To successfully build a team and a culture focused on quality, sales, and people
- Valid driver’s license required
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours which may include early morning, late afternoons and weekends
