Playing Surfaces - Operations Crew - #181195

Reporting to TD Place Playing Surfaces Supervisor, you will be a member of the Playing Surfaces and Operations crew. This role will assist in preparing, grooming, painting, resurfacing, edging and other ongoing ice (arena) and turf (stadium) maintenance for practices, games and events.

What You’ll Do

* Main focus on field and ice preparation*

• Assist in the daily maintenance of ice surface and field turf;
• Complete minor repairs on ice surface, dasher boards, safety shields, and all other equipment;
• Ensure that all lines and logos are properly painted;
• Document damage or required equipment repairs;
• Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment;
• Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for their event needs, in both indoor and outdoor spaces;
• Ensure attention to detail meets standards required by the facility, tenants and customers;
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

What’s Needed

• Any labour experience is an asset;
• MUST have CSA approved steel toe work boots;
• Must have G Classed Driver’s License if driving a motorized vehicle on-site;
• Ability to do heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds;
• Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment;
• Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member;
• Ability to work varied schedule including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Work requires significant physical effort, walking (including stairs), and lifting heavy weights;
• Work requires utilizing tools and equipment that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures;
• Work requires adhering to WHMIS and provincial Health and Safety requirements.
