POWER ENGINEER

YOUR ROLE
The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is recruiting for one Entry Level Power Engineer for our Power and Recovery department.
New employees start with a three-day orientation and are provided extensive safety and job specific training. Schedules are typically 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation. Employees work two-day shifts, followed by two-night shifts, and then have four days off.
The starting wage is $36.11 per hour with opportunities to develop new skills and increase wages by training up the departmental lines of progression. This permanent full-time position involves shift work, manual labour and equipment operation.
Power and Recovery is responsible for the recovering of chemicals that were used to turn the wood chips into pulp. This department also generates power to support the mill.
Your Responsibilities
The Entry Level position offers variety in the work that is performed, including indoor and outdoor work. Common duties include:
ü Equipment operation involving a vacuum truck, forklift, Bobcat, etc.
ü Pre-start checks and operation of equipment
ü Area clean-up
ü Ensuring processes and equipment run safely

ü Excellent written and oral communication skills
ü Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment
ü Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
ü Detail oriented;
ü Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image
Your Qualifications
ü 4 th Class (or higher) Power Engineering Certification
ü High school diploma or equivalent
ü Valid Class 5 Driver's License
ü Experience working in a safety sensitive industrial environment
ü Previous related experience an asset
