Reporting to the Provincial Property Team Lead (or assigned designate i.e., Property Chair or committee member), In this role you will Ensure assigned properties and facilities are maintained to Girl Guides of Canada standards in collaboration with the Provincial Property Team Lead or designate, support Property Committees in property operations, and act as the onsite lead for rental group.
Property Maintenance
This position will remain open until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.

Property Maintenance
- Maintains all areas at camp (buildings, sites, and common areas) in a safe, clean and neat order. This includes but is not limited to:
- Building management: monitors building-related systems (plumbing, electrical, fire, etc.), schedules inspections as needed, ensures repairs are made, identifies the need for unscheduled repairs, liaises with third-party providers at the direction of su pervi sor and/or Property Chair. Maintains a working knowledge of any applicable standards or legislation.
- Outdoor maintenance: cutting grass, clearing snow, keeping wood piles stocked for rental groups, clearing shrubbery, gardening, liaising with third-party providers at the direction of supervisor and/or designate.
- Water testing: if applicable, conducts water testing as defined by Ministry standards and ensures all practices are performed in compliance with legislation. Identifies any issues immediately to supervisor and/or designate.
- Checks and monitors groundskeeping equipment to ensure it is in safe, working order. This includes but is not limited to:
- Lawnmowers, tractor, handtools, vehicles
- Checks and monitors program equipment to ensure it is in safe, working order. This includes but is not limited to:
- Canoes, kayaks, sailboats, sailboards, docks, tents, tent platforms, sports equipment
- Familiar with property insurance requirements specific to the property they work at and identifies any issues to supervisor and/or designate
- Participates in three times a week weekly walk-throughs of property to identify any issues and reports to supervisor and/or designate.
- Inspects buildings, sites, and common areas after rental groups depart to identify any issues and reports to supervisor and/or designate
- Provides input to supervisor and/or designate regarding property’s annual maintenance plans
- If applicable, plans and supports Property Chair with plans for work weekends
- Reviews bookings to ensure camp readiness for rental groups
- Ensures they are on-site for check in and check out of rental groups
- Communicates effectively with rental groups, including providing safety and clean up information
- Available to provide immediate assistance to rental groups for the duration of their stay
- Orders supplies such as toilet paper, cleaning products, etc. within guidelines established by supervisor and/or designate
- Maintains a log of activities/functions taking place within property and submits to supervisor and/or designate
- Submits time sheets on a bi-weekly basis
- Monitors work email account on a regular basis and responds accordingly
- Participates in property committee meetings as requested
- If applicable, supervise and support summer camp staff onsite
- Conducts self in a manner that demonstrates support of the mission and vision of GGC-GduC
- Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices
- Completes any mandated training
- Takes responsibility for own personal health and safety by:
- Following rules related to health & safety policies
- Promoting health & safety within the workplace
- Reporting any potential problems or unsafe situations to direct supervisor and/or designate and/or People & Culture and/or senior management
- Other duties as assigned
- Reliable, able to work independently and efficiently without supervision
- Good interpersonal skills for liaison with rental groups, third-party providers, property committee, and the general community
- Have knowledge of property management principles and able to deal with or identify how to deal with common problems related to plumbing, electrical, septic systems, appliances, motors (i.e., lawnmower, golf cart)
- On-call flexibility/adaptability to deal with unexpected onsite issues that require attention
- Available to work weekends as this is when sites are rented (typically Friday night-Sunday morning)
- Basic computer skills to access booking information, submit reporting, etc.
- Qualification in a trade (i.e., millwright, plumber, electrician, carpentry, etc.) is an asset
