Description

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in business requirements walkthroughs.
  • âbefore being promoted into production
  • âPerform assigned system, iteration, acceptance, regression, volume, performance, post implementation and/or user acceptance testing tasks
  • Analyze business requirements documentation including Use Cases and non-functional requirements.
  • âContribute to the testing strategy and create systems test plan and test suites (including test cases).
  • âAnalyze test data requirements and create appropriate test data to support the test strategy.
  • âVerify actual results meet expected results. Examine test databases using SQL. Analyze and log test results. Document and monitor resolution of system variances using an automated problem management system.
  • âProvide recommendations to the Project Manager as to the acceptance or rejection of any changed system components.
  • âWeekly reporting on status, progress, and key issue/concerns as directed by the Project Lead or Sr. Project Manager.
  • âTransfer skills and knowledge to selected OPS staff.
  • âThe resource may be required to do similar work related to the role, for other initiatives within PRS, as directed by the manager.

Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirementsâ

Public Sector Experience:â5%

  • âExperience working in the public sector on a mid-tier and/or legacy platform.

âTesting Experience: â50%

  • â7+ years of experience in system testing.
  • âExcellent knowledge of system testing methodology and executing system and user acceptance tests.
  • âAbility to understand and analyze business requirements, and systems response documents, to design and execute test plans to ensure the system functions and meets the business requirements.
  • âExperience verifying actual results meet expected results, examining test databases using SQL, analyzing and logging test results, documenting and monitoring resolution of system variances using an automated problem management system (e.g. Clear Quest).
  • âAbility to write and design test plans and test cases that are well-structured, easy to maintain, and easily understood by both developers and business analysts and clients, providing detailed testing plans.
  • âProven and demonstrable troubleshooting and analytical experience.
  • âDemonstrated excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • âExperience analyzing business requirements documentation including use cases, user stories and other non-functional requirements.
  • âExtensive experience to conduct system testing by executing online test scripts, and manual test cases
  • âExperience analyzing test data requirements and create appropriate test data to support the test strategy.
  • âExperience with automated system testing and testing tools for CI/CD DevOps Pipelines
  • âExperience testing data-migration processes.
  • âExperience preparing and maintaining defect summaries and reports to aid with prioritization of work and defect tracking.
  • âExperience using automated testing scripts and tools (e.g. Rational Functional Tester, Selenium or any equivalent automated testing tool).
  • â5+ years of experience with Agile project management and development practices (managing the backlog, preparing and supporting the scrum master, sprint planning, creating user stories etc.

âAnalytical Skills: â30%

  • âProven and demonstrable troubleshooting and analytical experience
  • âDemonstrated excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • âExperience analyzing business requirements documentation including Use Cases and non-functional requirements
  • âExperience analyzing test data requirements and create appropriate test data to support the test strategy

  • âA demonstrated team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

  • Demonstrated experience reporting status, progress, and key issues/concerns to project managers and leads

Must Haves

  • Experience verifying actual results meet expected results, examining test databases using SQL, analyzing and logging test results, documenting and monitoring resolution of system variances using an automated problem management system (e.g. Clear Quest).
  • Experience with automated system testing and testing tools for CI/CD DevOps Pipelines
  • âExperience using automated testing scripts and tools (e.g. Rational Functional Tester, Selenium, Azure or any equivalent automated testing tool).
  • Ability to understand and analyze business requirements, and systems response documents, to design and execute test plans to ensure the system functions and meets the business requirements in addition to AODA standards and testing approach
  • Have good working knowledge of AODA, enacted in 2005, which aims to make Ontario accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities by setting standards and requiring organizations to remove barriers.
