We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our Emergency Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

Position Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within Emergency Department.

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision of general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis, according to the Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and approved standards of care of the Corporation.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BScN degree preferred, minimum completion of Diploma in Nursing.
  • 1-2 years recent Emergency Department experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience).
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Current PALS certification.
  • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification or equivalent.
  • Current NENA CTAS certification and experience or proof of completion within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (or willingness to complete within six (6) months of hire).
  • Coronary Care Level 1 (or willingness to complete within six (6) months of hire).
  • Coronary Care Level 2 (or willingness to complete within twelve (12) months of hire).
  • Current Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification preferred.
  • Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with pediatric nursing assessment is preferred.
  • Critical Care or Emergency Department courses preferred.
  • CNA Emergency Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Competency in Peripheral venous access initiation and maintenance of parenteral therapy preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical ventilation preferred.
  • Experience with Meditech Expanse documentation preferred.
  • Internal Medical Directives certification to be completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to work independently under medical directives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking decision making skills.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records.

Hiring Salary Range: $40.24 - $57.68
