Rotation/Shifts

Days, including weekends (1/4), 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Member of the RNAO;
  • Minimum of three (3) months of recent experience in emergency care in an acute care setting;
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and expertise in emergency care;
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and expertise in Geriatric care;
  • Knowledge of regional health-care system in the area of geriatrics;
  • Previous adult education experience;
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess the patient's learning needs and ability to plan appropriate teaching;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Demonstrates the ability to participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary health care team;
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Demonstrates a commitment to personal continuing education activities;
  • Previous research skills, studies, and evaluation experience;
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Office;
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
  • Experience and expertise in performing comprehensive geriatric nursing assessments;
  • CNA Certification in Geriatrics;
  • CNA Certification in Emergency.
