Position Information

Temporary position until approximately October 21, 2026.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

• Current Certificate of Competence, College of Nurses of Ontario;
• A minimum of three (3) years recent psychiatric nursing experience;
• Experiences in facilitating / co-facilitating patient groups;
• Expereince in completing and documenting comprehensive mental health assessments;
• Demonstrates a desire and ability to participate in patient / family teaching;
• Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention techniques;
• Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation;
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing ;
• Ability to develop, co-ordinate and deliver in-services, presentations;
• Ability to make effective referrals, reflecting in depth knowledge of community resources and strong collaborative skills in working with other TOH departments and community partners;
• Proven ability to assess, plan, prioritize, organize, implement, evaluate and problem-solve;
• Proven ability to exercise mature, effective judgement and behaviour in emergency situation and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team;
• Proven ability to be organized and thorough in information gathering and documentation practices and proficiency in the use of personal computers;
• Completion of a criminal reference check with results satisfactory to TOH;
• Eligible to work in Canada.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a CNA Psychiatric Nursing Certificate;
• Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
