This is a fully remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from home or any one of our 10 offices across Canada. What You Will Do

Operating within Forsite’s Inventory business unit, you will work closely with clients, government, and technical staff to design and deliver innovative digital inventory solutions that can be used at both operational and strategic planning scales. Your projects may include any number of:

  • LiDAR assessment/analysis activities, such as feature extraction
  • Machine learning training sample creation and review
  • Machine learning descriptor creation
  • General GIS tasks to support forest inventory attribute predictions

What You’ll Need

Must Have

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline and 2 to 3 years relevant forest industry experience (or equivalent)
  • Experience with remote sensing software or Web based analytics platforms would be considered an asset (ENVI, ERDAS,PCI Geomatics, ESA SNAP, Google Earth Engine, Descartes Lab, Sentinel Hub)
  • Experience working with a range of remotely sensed data (imagery, radar, LiDAR) and photogrammetry
  • Proficient in automation with Python
  • Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS / ArcPro, QGIS, GlobalMapper, GDAL

Strong Preference

  • Experience with using remote sensing for forestry or natural resource analysis / Management
  • Experience working with the AWS platform and geospatial databases (SDE)
  • Experience with statistics, machine learning algorithms, classification and regression
