About The Role

We’re looking for a Risk & Compliance Advisor to join our growing team!

Are you curious or a strategic thinker with a passion for risk management? Join our dynamic Claims Department as we expand our national team, dedicated to safeguarding our organization and our clients. We are seeking an innovative Risk Management Advisor to work across all lines and departments, fostering collaboration with Claims, IT, and various risk governance teams both internally and externally. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, ensuring robust and resilient operational frameworks. At Intact we work in a hybrid work model, this position requires the successful candidate to be in office a minimum of 2-days per week.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Develop and execute a control validation framework, methodology and activities, including working with key stakeholders to problem solve through root cause analysis and provide input on setting up appropriate processes & controls within key projects
  • Develop remediation action plans to address issues identified through ongoing control validation and audits and monitor progress to closure.
  • Analyze and present results and recommendations on processes and controls, identified through control validation, to key stakeholders at different governance Forums and Committees.
  • Build key relationships – You will, as you partner with all business functions and leverage Risk, Audit, and peers around the world to adhere to policy and regulatory requirements and external auditor.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure new and changing processes are appropriately controlled.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Post Secondary Education in business, finance, or audit – is required
  • Minimum 3-years experience in audit and/or risk management – is required
  • Minimum 3 years Claims knowledge experience within P+C insurance with knowledge of risk and control - is an asset
  • You have excellent presentation skills and experience consulting on risk, process & control assessments.
  • Proactive and decisive thinking and excellent ability to problem solve and identify solutions through superior negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Related insurance designations CIP, FCIP, CRM
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
