S2627-02 - Early Childhood Division Assistant Coordinator
The Early Childhood Division Assistant Coordinator (ECDAC) supports the leadership and administration of all Care to Learn programs and is accountable to the Early Childhood Division Coordinator (ECDC). This role assists in ensuring high-quality, inclusive care and education for children by providing operational support, staff guidance, and coordination across program sites. The Early Childhood Division Assistant Coordinator helps ensure that programs operate in alignment with provincial regulations, organizational policies, and best practices in early learning and school-age care. Respectful communication, professionalism, and high standards of care are essential to this position.

The ECDAC May
- Support the leadership, management, and delivery of high-quality programs that meet the needs of children, students, and families
- Assist in ensuring the program's philosophy, policies, and procedures are consistently implemented across all sites.
- Assist in supervising Care to Learn staff
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters involving children, students, families, and staff
- Support day-to-day operational, administrative, and human resource functions of the programs
- Promote ongoing professional learning and contribute to staff development and capacity building
- Early Learning and Child Care Certificate/Diploma or equivalent (Level 2, or 3) Education degree qualifies for level 3
- Current Child Intervention Record Check
- Current Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)
- Valid First Aid certification
- Experience working in an early childhood or school-age care setting
- Strong literacy, oral, and written communication abilities
- Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and inclusive practice
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and sound work ethic.
- Consistency, fairness, compassion, and understanding in all interactions
- Extensive understanding of child development theories and best practices
- Working knowledge of Alberta Childcare Licensing and Public Health Regulations
- Familiarity with NLPS program philosophies, policies, and operational procedures for child care programs.
- Understanding of financial management processes, including budget development and review
- The ability to take direction and work independently
- Dependable and self motivated
- Computer literacy
- Understanding various technology, software, computer, and office equipment
- Desire to participate in ongoing professional development
