This position reports to

Channel Manager

Your role and responsibilities

ABB is seeking a dynamic Sales Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling and promoting ABB products, focusing on maintaining, increasing, and developing new business in the appropriate markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Activities (80%):
  • Engage with end-users to create demand for ABB products.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for new and existing products.
  • Identify and develop new accounts and market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, OEMs, developers, and constructors to develop product specifications.
  • Channel Partner Engagement (20%):
  • Service, promote, sell, educate, communicate, and travel with channel partners.
  • Plan and organize sales calls and strategies.
  • Attend industry functions and in-company meetings.

Duties

Create Demand:

  • Understand distributor, commercial/residential, consultant, contractor, OEM, and communications markets.
  • Develop sales strategies for introducing new products and promoting existing ones.
  • Identify new opportunities in growing market segments.

Build Channel Partner Relationships:

  • Evaluate ABB inventory semi-annually.
  • Promote new products and organize counter displays and mini trade shows.
  • Expand product offerings and shelf space.
  • Conduct sales meetings and product demonstrations.
  • Communicate ABB terms, policies, and mutual opportunities.

Competitive Strategy:

  • Maintain and increase market share.
  • Track competitive activities and protect key products.

Marketing Tactics:

  • Understand account potential and growth trends.
  • Evaluate ABB's market share and competitors' share.
  • Maintain contact with electrical inspection authorities.
  • Participate in local industry associations.

Professional Selling Skills:

  • Understand ABB's market-driven philosophy and corporate policies.
  • Know product uses, benefits, and demonstration techniques.
  • Manage time effectively, qualify accounts, identify decision-makers, address objections, and close sales.
  • Maintain professional appearance and organized materials.

Qualifications for the role

  • Experience in sales, preferably in the commercial/residential sector.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Skilled in communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to travel as required (possibility of overnight travel).
