THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, processing areas, floors, walls, and hallways in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and production areas for cleaning by removing materials, covering electrical components, and ensuring workspaces are ready for sanitation.
  • Dispose of waste materials and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility, including changing garbage, restocking supplies, and cleaning work areas.
  • Operate pressure washing equipment and utilize approved cleaning and sanitizing chemicals following rinse, foam, rinse, and sanitize procedures.
  • Perform visual inspections of equipment and work areas to verify cleanliness and re-clean as required to meet food safety standards.
  • Operate and support rack washing activities, including cleaning small parts, racks, carts, totes, buggies, bins, and facility hallways.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble production equipment in various departments, including blending, stuffing, and packaging operations.
  • Clean and sanitize production machinery such as grinders, blenders, stuffers, slicers, conveyors, peelers, chill boxes, and related equipment.
  • Apply sanitizing products to designated areas and prepare equipment for production start-up.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, and company sanitation standards.
  • Identify and report food safety concerns, equipment issues, hazards, incidents, and near misses to the appropriate department.
  • Follow all Occupational Health & Safety requirements and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready facility.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Read, write, and communicate (English)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs occasionally and use pressure hoses (150-700 psi)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual and team member
  • Ability to work in a cold and wet environment
