We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented team-player to join us. As a Senior Accountant [non-audit] your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with clients and providing exceptional client service
  • Preparation of financial statements and tax returns in accordance with firm standards for clients in a variety of owner managed businesses and non-profit enterprises (ASPE and ASNPO)
  • Plan and oversee the fieldwork for reviews of small to medium sized organizations in a variety of industries, including but not limited to: real estate, manufacturing, construction, financial services and not-for-profits
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements of business clients and being the leader on mandates, reviewing work of accounting team and completion of complex portions of the file
  • Effective communication with our clients, government agencies and with our partners and staff
  • Keeping Partners and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues
  • Providing supervision and training to other staff members and completion of performance evaluations
  • Provide accounting and tax compliance services to private clients for compilation and review engagements

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Accountant [non-audit]? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:

  • Possession of a University Degree or Diploma with a concentration in Accounting
  • CPA Designation is preferred, or pursuing CPA designation
  • Strong understanding of ASPE
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of public accounting experience is preferred, with emphasis on assurance experience: preparing review or audit engagements is required, including current knowledge of CSRE 2400 review standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to lead client engagements and interact efficiently and effectively with clients
  • Remain current and knowledgeable on trending topics in accounting and assurance
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Adobe, Caseware, Caseview and Tax Prep
