Due to the success of our growing airports portfolio in the Greater Toronto Area, we are hiring for a Regulatory Permitting Manager to join our growing team. The Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects within the organization, ensuring that they are executed according to scope, schedule, cost, quality standards, and risk management protocols. The incumbents require a wealth of experience in managing large infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of international airport development or other similar complex programs.

Your Role Within The Team

  • Oversees the environmental reviews required for the Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) process related to the Pearson LIFT program to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and standards;
  • Provides technical expertise on environmental processes & permitting and compliance requirements;
  • Confirms that the overall program and design strategy includes all relevant environmental requirements;
  • Advises and supports the project delivery teams with environmental strategies, and related data inputs and analysis;
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate environmental risks associated with Pearson LIFT;
  • Consults in conjunction with GTAA Environmental Services with appropriate agencies regarding environmental plans and monitors regulations that affect the Pearson LIFT program;
  • Works with Program Delivery and Technical Shared Services teams to plan and validate environmental;
  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of GTAA staff.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A Recognized degree in related environmental sciences/studies, engineering, or related field and professional qualification (QP designation) considered an asset;
  • Typically, 10 years of professional experience in the environmental planning sector within the construction / development industry;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience of monitoring, tracking and delivering environmental aspects in the infrastructure / development sector. Experience in large complex programs considered an asset;
  • Demonstrable experience working with federal and provincial environmental regulatory agencies, and knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulatory requirements (e.g. IAA, CEPA, Fisheries Act, etc.);
  • Demonstrable experience in management and reporting of complex contaminated sites;
  • Demonstrable experience in data management and technical report production;
  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating small (3-5 people) teams of technical specialists / engineers).
