As the Event Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day event operations with Planned’s top clients, collaborating with the customer success team on process improvements and sharing your expansive event knowledge. Reporting directly to the Head of Customer Success, you will build and maintain strong client relationships, lead efforts to resolve customer issues, identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, and help shape escalation protocols that support customer engagement and long-term retention.

Your Role

  • Be the main point of contact for Planned’s top clients and the first line of defence for issue resolutions or inquiries.
  • Ensure team adherence to client policies, compliance standards, and SOPs and provide training and clarification where needed.
  • Offer expert guidance on event planning, logistics, and execution best practices; support the team in managing complex or high-profile events as needed.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure service quality and contract compliance.
  • Stay current on industry trends and integrate innovative practices into team workflows.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as event satisfaction, issue resolution time, and team productivity and provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on operational data.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in event operations, project management, or a related field, with extensive event industry knowledge; CMP certification preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the event lifecycle, logistics, vendor management, and alignment with client goals.
  • Familiarity with corporate event policies, compliance frameworks, and best practices.
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates client needs and delivers effective solutions.
  • Exceptional time management skills to balance multiple projects and daily priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with sound judgment and confidence in high-stakes decision-making.
