About The Role
Remote/Hybrid | Full-time | Senior Level
We are seeking a highly capable and driven Applied Geochemist to join our multidisciplinary consulting team. This is a senior-level role with opportunities for leadership, mentoring, and direct impact on exploration success.
This individual will lead and support mineral exploration projects with a focus on geochemical and spectral data use and interpretation. The successful candidate will bring experience gathered through an enriching industry career of roles that exposed them to a variety of geological scenarios and commodity types.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Geochemical Interpretation and Targeting: Conduct advanced interpretations of geochemical and spectral data to inform multi-disciplinary exploration targeting for a variety of mineral deposit types in 2D and 3D. Effective interpretation of surface sample datasets from wide range of geomorphological environments.
- Consulting Expertise: Provide specialist consulting services to mineral exploration, mining, and government clients. Promote integration of geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets with machine learning outputs for exploration targeting. Perform site visits and provide technical guidance to clients on sampling program design and execution.
- Client Engagement: Prepare and present client-ready reports and presentations. Lead client meetings and workshops.
- Project Management and Delivery: Oversee and deliver consulting projects, ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of tasks.
- Business Development: Conduct business development activities including lead prospecting, lead development, preparation of technically robust proposals, conference representation, and general client communication.
- Mentorship and Team Management: Effective coordination and collaboration with project team members. Train and mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams to integrate geochemical and geological data, co-develop data-driven targeting solutions, and support anomaly detection and area selection.
- Proven expertise in interpretation and targeting with geochemical data from a variety of mineralization styles, geological environments, and geomorphological conditions.
- Demonstrated specialist-level knowledge in applied geochemistry. Experience with geochemical data from portable XRF and hyperspectral data from Terraspec (or equivalent) for real-time field-based workflows is an asset.
- Expertise in design of surficial geochemical sampling programs including interpretation of topographic data, sample site selection, sample description, and analytical method selection to inform standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrated skill and success in managing collaborative geoscience projects with a commitment to technical leadership.
- Proficiency in integrating geochemical and geological datasets for targeting at all stages of exploration and mining.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of analytical methods and digests, with understanding of selection and application in exploration and mining with reference to lab procedure and QaQc.
- Proven capability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences, delivering clear and concise reports and presentations.
- Advanced user of geochemical interpretation software (e.g., ioGAS), GIS software (e.g., QGIS) and 3D software (e.g., LeapFrog).
- Competence in use of python for geoscience data processing and interpretation including machine learning is an asset.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- If required A minimum of 8 years of experience mineral exploration with focus in geochemical interpretations, data integration, geostatistics, and exploration targeting.
- Post secondary degree in geology, geological sciences, or geological engineering with a focus in evaluation of geochemical data (Graduate Degree preferred).
- Registered Professional Geoscientist in relevant jurisdiction within Canada or confirmed willingness and ability to obtain such registration.
- Valid full Provincial driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
- Ability to conduct physically demanding geological field work in remote areas.
- Occasional travel to project sites, conferences, or other ALS offices required.

Our Benefits Include
- An estimated annual salary ranging from $125,000 – $135,000 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
