As a specialist, you will support efforts to implement, enhance and advance the development of professional training programing, and the coordination of programming designed to foster wellbeing and transformative change in community-based contexts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead DEI-focused initiatives – Plan cultural awareness events, programming, and observances to promote engagement.
  • Advance decolonization efforts – Assess and refine programs and services to enhance cultural responsiveness, address systemic barriers, and promote equity and inclusion.
  • Strengthen community partnerships – Foster meaningful collaboration with diverse communities, including Indigenous communities, faith groups, disability communities, grassroots collectives, and organizations.
  • Develop training and resources – Create tools and learning opportunities to build staff capacity in culturally responsive program and service delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate impact – Track engagement and wellbeing initiatives, assess program effectiveness, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support advocacy efforts – Contribute to initiatives that address health disparities, social inequities, and broader issues affecting equity-seeking groups and marginalized populations and communities.
  • Prepare reports and analyses – Develop reports, statistical analyses, and recommendations to support decision-making.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Community Engagement, or a related field with five years experience in program planning, evaluation and research or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in equity & Inclusion and human rights preferably in a public sector or community-focused setting.
  • Experience in community engagement and relationship-building with diverse groups and communities, including Indigenous groups and communities, faith groups, disability communities, grassroots collectives, and organizations.
  • Proficiency in research and analysis to support reports, program evaluations, and policy recommendations.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to engage diverse audiences and promote awareness-building.
  • Knowledge of project management and change management tools and methodologies to support planning, strategy development and implementation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Political acuity to understand key issues, priorities and risks impacting communities, programs and services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of organizational culture, diversity and inclusion to effectively support key initiatives and activities to deliver equitable and inclusive programs and services and organizational and community well-being and belonging.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
