The Successful Candidate Will
- Lead introductory sports programs such as Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, etc.
- Greet participants and ensures attendance is taken at each class and all paperwork is handed in promptly on the last day of the session.
- Deliver a pre-designed curriculum in an engaging, inclusive and safe manner.
- Use excellent customer service skills to resolve conflicts or concerns from program participants and the public, or refer to the appropriate staff.
- Set up and tear down of all equipment. Reports any facility or equipment requests or concerns.
- Communicate any issues with respect to health and safety concerns, attendance, participants, equipment, inventory, facility spaces.
- Respond to emergency situations including performing minor first aid and/or arranging for medical assistance.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with departmental guidelines and corporate objectives.

- Be an advocate for play and the importance of physical activity for all ages to develop motor, social and cognitive skills in participants.
- Experience working with children and adults in a recreation setting.
- Sports background and previous coaching experience is an asset.
- Excellent customer service, communication, leadership, and organizational skills and sensitivity to interact with a diversity of patrons, parents, and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification required.
- Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification required (Preschool-Youth classes)
- Be available to work flexible hours including daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
