Your Impact

As Senior Director, Mergers & Acquisitions at OpenText, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the company’s growth strategy across a $200B+ total addressable market. You’ll lead the charge in identifying and executing high-impact acquisitions that fuel innovation, expand our global footprint, and strengthen our competitive edge. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll drive end-to-end deal execution, sourcing, diligence, negotiation, and integration, while building strong partnerships both internally and across the M&A ecosystem. What The Role Offers

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of public and private company acquisitions across OpenText’s global portfolio
  • Manage a robust pipeline of acquisition targets in collaboration with business unit leaders
  • Drive and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes with internal and external experts (Legal, Finance, HR, Tech, etc.)
  • Negotiate deal terms and structures across various transaction types and sizes
  • Partner with Legal, Treasury, and Tax to support transaction structuring
  • Build financial models and analytical frameworks to support executive decision-making
  • Clearly communicate deal risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies
  • Support M&A governance processes and prepare materials for senior leadership and board review
  • Contribute to post-merger integration planning and execution
  • Represent OpenText at industry events and maintain relationships with investment banks, private equity, and venture capital firms

What You Need To Succeed

  • 8+ years of M&A experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital—ideally within the software or tech sectors
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end deal processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and business case development skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders through compelling presentations and reports
  • Strategic mindset with sound judgment and the ability to drive alignment and outcomes
  • Adept at building trust and collaboration across functions and external partners
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed
