Reporting to the Senior Marketing Specialist in Concordia University of Edmonton’s (CUE) Marketing & Communications branch, the Marketing Assistant supports the department’s projects, campaigns, and day-to-day activities by producing various written and visual marketing content, assisting with the day-to-day administration of our social media channels and assisting with our intranet and wordpress website updates and maintenance.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring social media inboxes and website request inboxes, responding to inquiries within target timeframes and escalating issues to senior marketing specialist and/or communications specialist.
  • Proactively monitoring social media accounts of our broader stakeholder community (alumni association, Pride Association, BCSA, CSA etc) and reposting/sharing relevant messaging from those groups.
  • Occasionally attending on-campus events taking photos, short videos for use in marketing assets/social media posts.
  • Assist the Communications Specialist with creation and implementation of a social media content/editorial calendar.
  • Research and develop written content for social media posts, websites, and other mediums. Adopting CUE’s brand voice and tailoring tone to the intended audience.
  • Develop graphics for social media, web and digital signage with Canva and other design software. Ability to create short form video content (reels, tik-toks) is an asset.
  • Manage the WebSupport email inbox and make web page updates to CUE’s intranet and the external CUE website.
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication by providing updates and accurate timelines to internal stakeholders as you work through their requests; and
  • Provide a student lens to our marketing and communications functions as consulted.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time CUE student.
  • Extensive experience using social media platforms and creating content.
  • Professional marketing or communications experience is beneficial, but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently as well as within a busy and collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and be a self-starter.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to creative processes.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platform and content trends.
  • Dedicated to providing excellent customer service to stakeholders; and
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results.
