The Near North District School Board invites applications for our
Summer Learning Program – Educational Assistants
The SLP will run from June 29-July 17, 2026
We will be hiring 2 Educational Assistants - one in the North and one in the East/West
The Near North District School Board is looking for staff to support the delivery of the Summer Learning Program (Garde 1-6) for children who would benefit from additional small group learning experiences that promote resilience, well-being, social interaction, and grow literacy and numeracy skills through fun and engaging activities. Staff will work collaboratively with program instructors to support students' engagement and active participation in program activities.
This half-day morning program will be offered in person in all three NNDSB regions.

Hours of work: approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hours of work will vary – responsive to the needs of students and programming.
Rate of Pay: $35.22 per hour (which includes 4% vacation and 4% statutory holiday pay)
Required Qualifications:
- Two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field would be considered an asset.
- Experience working with a variety of student exceptionalities including but not limited to students with complex, high needs .
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other adults (e.g. engaging families, program planning with team members); Ability to support culturally relevant and responsive programming
