Currently we have an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to advance their career as a Summer Student - Temporary Full-Time

Position Overview

Join us as a Finance Summer Student and help to create health and build community in East Toronto! As a Summer Student, you will work with usin supporting operations related projects and other initiatives related to the finance and accounting function at the hospital.

This position is offered through the support of Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet theminimum requirements of that program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the day-to-day operations of the respective team in Finance including Accounting/Reporting, Planning and Analysis and Accounts Payable.
  • Assist with internal and external reporting or any other reporting that is assigned
  • Assist in the accounting and management of hospital asset disposals
  • Ensure timely validation of invoices and payment
  • Assist in processing user changes in the E-Requisitioning software.
  • Assist in ad hoc requests and project as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma, required.
  • Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program, required. Business or Accounting field, preferred.

Experience

  • Experience in creative writing, school newspaper or equivalent
  • Ability to work within a team as a leader and/or team member
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong demonstration of tact and diplomacy with a customer service focus
  • Expectation of this role encompasses the need to maintain confidentiality with respect to all aspects of the work being performed
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and prioritize workload
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with information gathering and the ability to synthesize and summarize information
  • Ability to prepare written reports and documents that are clear and concise
  • Comfortable working within a team as a leader and/or team member and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Students must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person under Refugee Protection, this does NOT include those with a study visa, work visa or refugee status
