Responsibilities

Your Role:

In this role, you will support client operations by verifying, reporting and processing activities on their behalf. Our clients are Investment Managers whom we provide time sensitive services such as verifying and settling over the counter trades in the market, agreeing daily collateral calls across various counterparties, and moving money in and out of their account(s). Engaging our clients in a professional manner and providing dependable, timely reporting are keys to success in this role. The Supervisor will be responsible for assisting and leading performance discussions with junior staff, troubleshooting day-to-day issues, reviewing/adjusting work allocations as needed, and representing the group on internal and external calls.

  • You will oversee a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts supporting them and your Manager while delivering a high level of customer service to your client base.
  • Ensure the team is able to work effectively, troubleshooting technical issues and working with the Manager to ensure the team is adequately equipped to service our clients
  • Monitor process flows to ensure deliverables are on track assisting where needed and escalating if required
  • Process daily payments via internal payment system
  • Verify and confirm OTC Derivative settlements and agree amounts with counterparty
  • Track daily payments and send out reminders to ensure counterparty cutoffs are met
  • Liaise with various counterparties to verify payment details
  • Prepare and oversee end of day transaction reports to circulate to clients and internal departments
  • Produce and review/verify the accuracy and timeliness of reports
  • Set-up and maintenance of Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI’s) in internal systems
  • Collaborate both internally with other departments and externally with our clients in a proactive manner to actively improve our overall deliverable
  • Support Account Managers and lead the rollout of new operational processes
  • Lead process and client relationship improvements
  • Work both internally and externally with stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Monitor group mailbox for wire requests and ensure properly flagged to action

Qualifications

About You:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree or Community College diploma focused in Finance, Accounting, Economics and other quantities subject.
  • 5+ years in Financial Services with an exposure to P&L reporting or Operation processing
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring
  • Professional Accounting/Finance designation considered an asset (CFA, CPA)
  • Inquisitive mindset, strong problem solving skills and drive to learn
  • Experience with various financial instruments and their corresponding cash flows
  • Adaptive, flexible style and capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Committed team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong and confident English communication skills through e-mail and phone
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; advanced formulas, data analysis and macros an asset
