Your Opportunity
The British Columbia Geomatics team within the Transportation Group is looking for a Survey Technician/Technologist to support our operations across the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
In this role, you will contribute to technical fieldwork, assisting with data collection and surveying activities on a variety of projects. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, enjoys travelling, and eager to learn, with a strong interest in developing a career in Geomatics.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Work with safety as a top priority, actively participating in Stantec’s HSSE culture.
- Perform a variety of survey including topographic, bathymetric, monitoring, 3D scanning.
- Prepare survey drawings in Civil3D
- Research, purchase, and draft plans from BC Land Titles
- QA/QC of field data and drafted data
- Willingness to travel for work throughout British Columbia including overnighting with accommodations and meal allowances provided.
- Physically capable of preforming work outdoors in rugged terrain and all weather conditions.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Makes safety culture a priority, demonstrating a focus on safety/risk analysis and mitigation
- Ability to work well in both a team environment or independently
- Highly motivated, proactive, and driven to achieve excellence.
- Working knowledge in field survey methodology
- Knowledge in BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI), MMCD standards considered an asset
- Experienced in using Trimble survey equipment (preferred) including data collectors, GNSS rovers, robotic total stations, and 3D scanners
- Working knowledge of survey calculations, geodetic coordinate systems, and map projections
- Valid BC Driver’s License with clean driving record
Education and Experience
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Geomatics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred; additional training will be provided to qualified candidates

Pay Range:
- Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$50,700.00 - $71,000.00 Annually
- Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$53,700.00 - $75,300.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
