Talent Acquisition Specialist - #187449

FWS

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Winnipeg, MB
Contract type: Full time

FWS Group of Companies is a fully integrated design, engineering, construction, and maintenance services firm. We are advocates of the design-build approach to project development. Whether our clients are looking at greenfield construction or retrofitting an existing facility, we have the in-house expertise to take their project from vision to reality.

To add to this expertise, we are recruiting for a Talent Acquisition Specialist for our Winnipeg office location, to join our collaborative and team focused organization.

We have a lot to offer you – profit sharing, RRSPs, health & dental benefits, professional training, just to name a few.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you are responsible for leading the full-cycle recruitment process for both hourly and salaried roles. In this position, you will collaborate closely with hiring managers and your HR team to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies that help us identify, attract, and hire top-tier talent.

This role requires someone who is self-driven, able to work independently, and take initiative beyond the basic expectations of the role. You’ll need to thrive in an environment where priorities can shift quickly, demonstrating flexibility in response to the natural ebbs and flows of construction projects.

Position Overview:

  • Proactively source qualified candidates through targeted searches, networking, partnerships, and innovative strategies, ensuring a strong talent pipeline.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including resume review, screening, interviewing, and influencing hiring decisions based on behavioral and organizational fit.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to define recruitment needs and develop strategic workforce plans aligned to business priorities.
  • Partner with HR to manage the onboarding process and support a seamless transition for new hires.
  • Design, document, and refresh recruitment strategies, employer branding initiatives, sourcing events, and candidate engagement tactics.
  • Maintain and optimize the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and a positive candidate experience.
  • Manage relationships with third-party search firms, post-secondary institutions, and external partners, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' progressive experience in full-cycle recruitment, workforce planning, and talent acquisition strategy development.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple open requisitions and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong documentation abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement in recruitment practices.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and ownership of results.
  • Ability to travel to attend career fairs and other Company/recruitment events.
